How we test every cartridge

The bench comes first

Every game that comes through the door goes to the bench first. We open the shell, clean the contacts, check the board for corrosion and replace save batteries that are close to the end.

Then we play it. Not a quick boot test: at least one full level on original hardware with original controllers, so we know the sound, the saves and the inputs work.

Only then does it get a grade

Only after that does it get a condition grade and a spot in the vault.
